Debra Knight

Medical Professional, Patient Care Coordinator, and Medical Aesthetician

Debra has been in the Medical Field for 27 years. She began her career in 1989, working as a Medical assistant for a Family practice group affiliated with the University of Florida.

In 1992 she was offered the position as Patient Care Coordinator for the University of Florida’s Chief of Plastic Surgery when he began a private practice and was one of the first Plastic Surgery Centers and Medical Spas in the area. As the Patient Care Coordinator she was responsible for educating patients in all Plastic Surgery procedures, i.e., Facelifts, Breast Augmentation, Abdominoplasty, Blepharoplasty and many others. During this time Debra was also working to obtain her Medical Aesthetician Degree.

In 1995 she relocated to Ponte Vedra and accepted a position with one of the largest Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery practices in the area where she began her medical Aesthetician career. For the first two years she worked side by side with the lead Dermatologist to learn everything possible regarding all skin types and their respective issues. She remained with the practice for 17 years. For the next 15 years Debra managed a team of four Aestheticians and eight Medical Assistants, while also performing Skin Analysis, Chemical peels, Epidermal Leveling, Microdermabrasion and Laser Hair Removal procedures.

Additionally, she spent many hours educating patients in Anti Age therapies, Acne treatments and prevention of Rosacea, Correction of Hyperpigmentation, C02 Laser Resurfacing pre and post-operative care and Make up application.

Debra has also been certified by Allergan (SkinMedica), Obagi, SkinCeuticals, and Procyte for over twenty years and most recently certified by Environ and Colorscience. Although Debra is currently a Medical Aesthetician, she remains an active Member of the American Registry of Medical Assistants and continues her education as such by taking extensive classes annually provided by Medical Assistant Registry.

In 2011, she proudly joined the team at Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery and has continued to advance her Aesthetic education through the Florida Board of Cosmetology and through the many opportunities provided by the practice.

Debra’s most recent educational opportunity was under the direct guidance of Dr. Lance Setterfield, M.D., the author of The Concise Guide to DERMAL NEEDLING. This is where she earned her Master’s Certificate for the Micro-needling procedure.

Debra and her husband (John) founded their first nonprofit organization (Big Oak Wolf Sanctuary) in Green Cove Springs Florida, eleven years ago. She and her husband John live on the five acre Sanctuary with their five dozen rescued wolves and wolfdogs, where her time away from work is spent nurturing these majestic animals back to health and teaching others about them and their deeper needs.

“I feels so blessed to be able to care for people in my profession and these beautiful animals at my home, and in doing so, influence the lives of others.”
