Visiting Information

Big Oak Wolf Sanctuary is a “sanctuary” for the rescued wolves and wolf dogs and has never been open to the public. Just the presence of unfamiliar faces creates undue stress on them, thus destroying their “sanctuary environment.”

In order to preserve the sanctuary environment, the only people we allow access to the facility are long-term, committed volunteers, and Annual Supporters.

Annual Supporters are Donors whose total annual contributions reach or exceed $2500.00. For the record, a supporter’s “annual” visit causes stress on the rescued wolves just as a visitor tour, not to mention the expense of delaying the daily responsibilities here to provide their tour. However, we are obligated to allow people who contribute at this level to see where their donated money is going. Specifically, to confirm the health and well-being of the animals they help us support, and see their living conditions and observe their quality of life here in our care.
