Resident Wolf Videos
Below are videos of us interacting with the rescued wolves here at the sanctuary. In many of the wolf videos you’ll see us allowing the wolves to lick us in our mouths. While this may seem a bit bizarre to some, perhaps even nasty, remember that this is a “true” sanctuary where the wolves are allowed to be exactly who and what they are, just as God made them, completely free from human rules and control. In order to preserve this environment for them, we have to interact with them on their level and terms, and according to their rules, just as they interact with each other. Otherwise, we’d be denying them the specific behavior that allows them to develop trust in us and intimacy with us, thereby altering their “sanctuary environment” to one that makes them conform to our rules—that WOULD NOT be a “true” sanctuary. So our motto for interacting with the wolves is “When in Rome” 🙂 We are always working—please excuse our conversations in the videos!
