Favorite aspect of the sanctuary: My favorite aspect(s) of Big Oak Wolf Sanctuary is the incredible peace and pleasure it brings. Upon entering the sanctuary there is a certain peace I cannot fully translate. When you exit your car and are greeted by enthusiastic, loving wolves you know there is something extraordinary that is about to transpire. It is the perfect diversion to everyday life. PLEASURE – Having direct contact and being accepted by the wolves. Being licked, rubbed on, drooled on, scratched by, nipped at and clothing torn off – PRICELESS! Plus, you just cannot beat the blending sounds of the wolves when they are howling!

Favorite wolf and why: I am unable to pick a favorite wolf at the sanctuary due to the fact that each one is unique in his/her own way.

Your role here: Helping with the wide variety of tasks that need to be performed: feeding, making sure the wolves have fresh water, cleaning their pools, spraying for pests, moving materials, and most of all – loving the wolves.

What being part of this unique mission means to you: Volunteering at the sanctuary is an awe-inspiring experience. Although the wolves are in captivity, I am hoping to make their world just a little better place, just as they have made mine.

Favorite Movie: As with the wolves – no favorites.
